Curriculum

The curriculum which is mandatory for all PhD students participating in the programme consists of four stages. Each stage is composed of four modules (Dissertation, Team, Key Qualifications, Research and Practice).

Conceptual stage (9 months)

Module: Dissertation Conception of the doctoral project Workshop: Concepts
Coordination with the mentoring team (supervision agreement, progress reports), publications
Module: Team Matching of concepts and allocation to one of the four working groups: participants, organisers, effects, functionalities
Participation in the team forum (weekly), participation in the colloquium (quarterly), contribution to the Wiki of the PhD programme
Module: Key Qualifications Seminar: Good Scientific Practice Interdisciplinary basic course
Module: Research and Practice Contact to a practitioner and presentation of the doctoral project
Public workshops for practitioners with presentations contributed by the network of the PhD programme (quarterly)

Stage of research (24 months)

Module: Dissertation work on the thesis Workshop: intermediate status work on the thesis
Coordination with the mentoring team (supervision agreement, progress reports), publications
Module: Team Participation in the interdisciplinary seminar of the PhD programme
Participation in the team forum (weekly), participation in the colloquium (quarterly), contribution to the Wiki of the PhD programme
Module: Key Qualifications mandatory elective course mandatory elective course
Module: Research and Practice Continuous cooperation with a practitioner and scientific monitoring of practical applications
Public workshops for practitioners with presentations contributed by the network of the PhD programme (quarterly)

Completion stage (6 months)

Module: Dissertation Completion of the dissertation and defense
Coordination with the mentoring team (supervision agreement, progress reports), publications
Module: Team Participation in the interdisciplinary seminar of the PhD programme
Participation in the team forum (weekly), participation in the colloquium (quarterly), contribution to the Wiki of the PhD programme
Module: Key Qualifications Seminar: career consultations and job application training
Module: Research and Practice Presentation of the doctoral project’s results to the practitioner
Public workshops for practitioners with presentations contributed by the network of the PhD programme (quarterly)

Transitional stage (6 months)

Module: Dissertation Supplemental activities
Coordination with the mentoring team (supervision agreement, progress reports), publications
Module: Team Presentation of the doctoral project’s results in a joint workshop
Participation in the team forum (weekly), participation in the colloquium (quarterly), contribution to the Wiki of the PhD programme
Module: Key Qualifications
Module: Research and Practice Mentoring by the practitioner
Public workshops for practitioners with presentations contributed by the network of the PhD programme (quarterly)
